More than a nursery — a community

Hidden amongst the trees, Amoritos is a warm and nurturing community — a home away from home where children are encouraged to explore the world around them and connect with the world within themselves.

Children spend their days climbing trees, building shelters, painting, gardening, baking, immersed in stories, songs, language, creativity, and meaningful real-world experiences — while forming friendships through long stretches of uninterrupted play.

The changing seasons, the scent of pine trees, birdsong, open skies, and the rhythms of the natural world become part of everyday life and learning.

We believe childhood should feel spacious, connected, and deeply human. We create an environment where children feel safe enough to explore, free enough to imagine, and supported enough to grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity at their own pace.

Amoritos — "little loves"

Our name reflects the deep love, respect, and reverence we hold for children and for childhood itself.

To us, children are not empty vessels waiting to be filled — they are whole human beings, each arriving with their own personality, sensitivities, intelligence, creativity, and way of experiencing the world.

Inspired by the deeply respectful philosophy of Sudbury Valley, we see children as inherently capable, intelligent, and deserving of genuine respect from the very beginning. While children need guidance, boundaries, and strong, loving adults around them, we do not believe childhood should be dominated by control, coercion or the assumption that as adults we always know better.

We strive to build relationships with children that feel deeply connected, collaborative, and rooted in trust — where children feel listened to, emotionally safe, taken seriously, and free to develop a strong sense of self, agency, curiosity, and confidence in who they are.

We believe the early years shape everything.

We believe the early years shape a child's relationship with themselves, with learning, and with the world around them. These years have a profound impact on whether a child grows to feel confident, capable, emotionally secure, and genuinely connected to the joy of learning.

The world our children are growing into is changing faster than ever before. While knowledge is increasingly available at the touch of a button, qualities such as creativity, adaptability, communication, emotional intelligence, collaboration, curiosity, and independent thinking are becoming more valuable than ever.

We believe these capacities are not developed through pressure or acceleration, but through meaningful relationships, rich experiences, imaginative play, real-world problem solving, and the freedom to explore.

Rather than rushing childhood, we protect it.

At Amoritos, we believe…

01

Before children learn anything, they need to know that they matter — that their voice, their ideas, and their presence have the capacity to shape the world around them.

02

Children are inherently capable, intelligent, curious, and full of potential.

03

Real learning emerges through curiosity, play, creativity, and deep engagement — not through instruction alone.

04

Children learn with their whole bodies — through movement, imagination, nature, storytelling, and hands-on exploration.

05

Joy, belonging, emotional safety, and connection are not separate from learning — they are the foundation of it.

06

Questions are often more important than quick answers.

07

Children deserve to be listened to seriously, observed carefully, and treated with genuine respect.

08

Childhood should feel rich in beauty, rhythm, nature, friendship, story, and meaningful real-world experience.

Our role is not simply to teach, but to thoughtfully prepare environments, experiences, and relationships that allow children to grow naturally in confidence, resilience, adaptability, independence, creativity, communication, and self-awareness.

Our approach is inspired by Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, Sudbury Valley, forest school education, and child-led learning philosophies — woven together into an approach that is grounded and intentional.

Montessori

Encouraging independence, concentration, confidence, and a genuine love of learning through hands-on exploration and meaningful real-world experiences.

Waldorf

Nurturing imagination, creativity, rhythm, and emotional wellbeing through storytelling, artistic expression, seasonal rhythms, and connection to nature.

Reggio Emilia

Honouring children as capable, curious thinkers through collaboration, creativity, self-expression, and child-led discovery.

Sudbury Valley

Rooted in trust, autonomy, and deep respect for children as inherently capable individuals with their own voice, agency, and path of development.

Many families arrive with a quiet feeling that childhood has become too fast, too scheduled, too disconnected from nature, community, and the simple rhythms children are meant to grow within.

They are searching for something calmer.

More grounded.

More human.

A place where children can move freely, spend their days outdoors, form meaningful relationships, develop confidence naturally, and remain deeply connected to their curiosity, imagination, and sense of wonder.

A childhood with space to breathe.

That is what we are protecting at Amoritos.

The scent of pine carried on warm morning air.

Bare feet meeting earth.

Small hands stained with soil.

Birdsong drifting through the trees while children disappear into worlds of their own making.

A childhood measured not by hurry, but by seasons.

By tree climbing, storytelling, scraped knees, muddy pockets, long afternoons of play, and the quiet magic of feeling deeply at home in the world.

The kind of childhood that stays somewhere in the soul long after it has passed.

Ages

We welcome children from 2 to 6 years old. Our small group sizes ensure every child receives genuine individual attention.

Our Setting

Nestled among the pines in Santa Eulària des Riu, Ibiza — a beautiful private forest and garden where children roam, climb, dig and discover every single day.

Our Approach

Playful, self-directed learning inspired by forest school principles. We protect long stretches of uninterrupted play, exploration, creativity, and outdoor discovery — allowing children to develop confidence, resilience, independence, and a genuine love of learning naturally.

Bilingual by Nature

Children experience full Spanish and English immersion throughout the day, absorbing language naturally through relationships, conversation, storytelling, songs, books, play, and everyday life.

At this age, language is not taught — it is lived. Children develop confidence and fluency naturally through meaningful daily experiences with caring adults and peers.
